PAYMENT OF PENSIONS FROM THE REPUBLIC OF GREECE

The Greek competent institution, Electronic - National Social Security Fund (e - E.F.K.A.), has submitted a notification regarding the payment of Greek pensions to beneficiaries residing in the Republic of Serbia.

According to the aforementioned notification, due to a technical problem regarding the payment of pensions to foreign bank accounts outside the SEPA interbank system (SEPA - Single Euro Payment Area) and in order to avoid further delays in their payment, the Greek competent institution previously proposed to the beneficiaries to submit account details opened with a Greek bank or, alternatively, a bank of another country within SEPA.

As this technical problem was resolved at the end of December 2024, the Greek competent institution is once again able to pay pensions to beneficiaries to accounts opened in Serbian banks. Beneficiaries who have not received their Greek pension in the previous period for the above reason should provide the Greek competent institution with bank account details from a Serbian bank.

The Greek competent institution asked for understanding for the situation that did not allow them to implement the provisions of the Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Greece on social security as required and for the inconvenience that Greek pension beneficiaries residing in the Republic of Serbia were exposed to.
