Law on Amendments to the Law on Compulsory Social Insurance ("RS Official Gazette", No. 47/13) changed the rate at which contribution to the mandatory pension and disability insurance is to be calculated and paid, by increasing the rate from 22% to 24 %. The contribution, for category of employees, is calculated at the rate of 11% paid by the employer and 13% by the employee. For the categories of self-employed and farmers, calculation of the contribution is being done at a rate of 24%, at their own expense.
The new contribution rate is in force as of May 30, 2013.

In Belgrade, on May 14, 2013, a meeting was held between the Institute for Social Insurance and the Austrian Institute for Pension Insurance, at which an analysis and evaluation of the results of the International Counseling Days of the pension and disability insurance institutions of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Austria has been performed and agreement on future activities reached. On this occasion, the top management of the Austrian Institute for Pension Insurance had several bilateral meetings with representatives of the competent Serbian authorities and organizations in the field of pension and disability insurance.

At the Directorate of the Provincial Fund for Pension and Invalidity Insurance in Novi Sad, on April 29, 2013, a meeting between the representatives of the competent institutions in the field of pension insurance of the Republic of Serbia and Hungary has been held. At the meeting, at the level of experts, information about the pension insurance systems of the two countries has been exchanged, as well as the analysis of the implementation of the Convention between the Government of the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia and the Republic of Hungary regarding the settlement of issues concerning social security of their citizens.

In Belgrade, on April 16 and 17, 2013, talks between the liaison body of the Republic of Serbia and the liaison bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been held regarding the implementation of the Agreement between two countries on social insurance, in the field of health insurance. At talks the state of mutual obligations and accounts receivable on the basis of healthcare expense reimbursement has been reviewed and a time table has been set for their payment, as well as unresolved issues and open questions that appear in the implementation of the existing Agreement have been reviewed and certain agreements reached with the purpose of facilitating its efficient implementation.

In Zagreb, on April 3 and 4, 2013, talks between the liaison body of Republic of Serbia and the liaison body of Republic of Croatia have been held, with regards to the implementation of the Agreement between the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Republic of Croatia on Social Security, in the field of pension and disability insurance. During talks two sides discussed issues related to the rights on pension and disability insurance and payment of benefits on that basis. Two delegations exchanged other useful information for more efficient implementation of the Agreement.

The International Counceling Days, at which experts from pension insurance institutions of Serbia and Austria will be providing adequate professional support and counsel in direct communication with clients, will take place on April 23, in Novi Sad and April 25, 2013, in Belgrade.

In Belgrade, on March 7 & 8, 2013, talks between the liaison body of Republic of Serbia and the liaison body of Republic of Slovenia have been held, with regards to the implementation of the Agreement between Republic of Serbia and Republic of Slovenia on Social Security, in the field of pension and disability insurance. The meeting was focused on issues related to the rights of pension and disability insurance and payment of benefits on that basis.

In Stuttgart, on February 19 and 20 and in Munich on February 21, 2013, International Counseling Days have been held in the field of pension and disability insurance between the Republic Fund for Pension and Disability Insurance of the Republic of Serbia and competent German pension insurance institutions - Deutsche Rentenversicherung at which a total of 143 persons have been admitted and provided with counseling service. Most frequent questions and counseling was related to periods of insurance completed in Serbia, as well as the duration of the decision making procedure.

International Counseling Days in the field of pension and disability insurance will take place in Germany, in Stuttgart on February 19 and 20 and in Munich on February 21 2013, at which experts from the Republic Fund for Pension and Disability Insurance of the Republic of Serbia and competent German pension insurance institutions will be admitting for counseling persons with questions regarding rights realization with regards to the application of the Agreement between Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Federal Republic of Germany on social security.

- January 17, 2013
Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Bulgaria on Social Security, signed on September 19, 2011, in Belgrade (Official Gazette - International Treaties, No. 11/11, December 27, 2011), will come into the force on February 01, 2013.
At the same date the Administrative Agreement for the Implementation of Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Bulgaria on Social Security and Arrangement on Compensation for the Costs of Benefits in Kind will enter into force.
With the entry into the force of this Agreement, in relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Bulgaria the Convention on social insurance between the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the People's Republic of Bulgaria (The Official Gazette SFRY - Addendum MUIDS, No. 8/58) shall cease to apply.
